The Story Behind “The Almighty”

In the Fall of 1992, I returned to college after a difficult semester away and met a new friend through a mutual connection. Both of us loved music, and we started rehearsing songs together as a duo, performing for friends 🎶

This was one of those songs. I had decided to sit down and write a song, and used my Bible as the lyrical source 📖 I opened to the book of Revelation — to chapter 1 — and was struck by verses 5-8. The words formed into a song quickly.
