“Without You” is a worship song about leaning on Jesus through every part of the day — from the first light of morning to the quiet of night.
The first time I heard my dad sing it, I was a little surprised by the contemporary style; I hadn’t really heard music like that from him before. But I loved how it turned out, and I think it’s among the strongest songs in our catalog.
As I recall, we were trying to create a male-female duet version of the song using AI, and it was a real challenge. The AI generated all kinds of male and female voices that didn’t match, each singing different parts of the song. Some sections had to be redone through trial and error, and others were fixed in editing. When I listen to it now, I’m honestly surprised at how well it came together despite all of that.
